The results are in …
Obama wins, YLRRR takes over Yorba Linda and, most importantly, it looks like Proposition 8 will pass.
Congratulations to those successful campaigns!
However, if you know me, you know I am not pleased with the first two results.
Obama’s win leaves me – and others I have spoken to – with an uneasy feeling. We can’t put our finger on it, but we are concerned about what will happen in the next 4 years. That concern is only heightened by the fact that the Democrats control Congress, essentially giving Obama a ticket to do just about whatever he wants.
Yorba Linda is a concern too! Having a single group, YLRRR, essentially take over the City is dangerous. It is through diversity that “good” decisions are made. In a situation like this, the goals of the group can overshadow the needs of the citizens.
We will have to pay close attention to the actions taken over the next couple of years, both at the Federal and the Local levels. We will need to ensure our voices are heard when we disagree with a policy being pushed. So, be diligent!
